"So Much"

After the Christmas holidays, I seem to always get in the clean-out mode.  I clean out draws, closets, storage boxes, and in general “fluff my nest.”

This year I found something I’d pondered and written in 1992.  Amazing how it still applied to me even now.   I guess letting go of “self” is a life-long journey on this earth.

So - here's my “pondering poetry”…

So much of me,

So little of You,

It’s my busy schedule and such!

So much of me,

So little of You,

Yet my heart knows it’s not enough,

Too much “self”

Too much “I”

Too much “me”

Too much “my”

Getting, wanting, planning, doing,

All for me….while God is wooing

Me yet one step closer from myself to Him.

So much of me,

So little of Him,

Daily I confess!

Please Holy Spirit fill me with more of You

And make of me the less.
